Welcoming the Stranger

A Conversation on Immigration and Resettlement

Sunday, February 23 | 5:00 PM | Join the Livestream

Join us at St. Paul’s on Sunday, February 23, at 5:00 PM for Welcoming the Stranger: A Conversation on Immigration and Resettlement, an evening of learning, discussion, and collaboration.

We are honored to welcome the Rev. Sarah Shipman, Executive Director of Episcopal Migration Ministries, and Kansas City-based immigration lawyer Michael Sharma-Crawford, along with other voices engaged in this work. Together, we will explore the evolving landscape of refugee resettlement in the United States and in Kansas City, discuss current immigration policies, and consider how we as communities of faith can respond with compassion and action.

This event is more than a conversation—it is the beginning of a larger effort to discern how we can faithfully and effectively support immigrants, refugees, and those seeking safety and belonging. We invite you to bring your thoughts, your questions (big or small), and your willingness to engage in this important work. This is an opportunity to listen, learn, and help shape a meaningful response.

All are welcome. We anticipate a broad gathering of Episcopalians from our diocese and beyond, as well as members of other faith communities. We look forward to this important conversation together.

We hope to see you there as we take this first step together.
